Love Our Neighborhood Day 2016LOND15_WebGraphic_3 JPGWe are excited to announce that Soul Graffiti  will be taking a significant leadership role in the support and production of Love Our Neighborhood Day! Our very own Justin Ancheta is the Director of this special community event. Love Our Neighborhood Day is inspiring much creative and community supportive energy in the studio where we have been hosting the planning session for months now.
Love Our Neighborhood Day  is an event created by Open Streets
East Bay Open Streets programs are modeled after “Ciclovia”, which originated in Bogotá, Colombia. Walk Oakland Bike Oakland partners with communities to produce Open Streets events for all to enjoy free health and community-oriented activities on city streets temporarily closed to automobile traffic.Open Street events are unique: They are non-commercial (no on-street vending except for food), and are focused on getting you to PLAY and to MOVE! You’ll experience the roadway differently: streets become a people-centered public space that is calm, vibrant, and imaginative.

Between 10,000 to 40,000 participants come out to play at each event.WOBO has produced Open Streets events in the East Bay since its inaugural event, Oaklavía, in 2010.
It is an honor for us to get to contribute to events like this which contain and include so much meaningful landscape for more of a sense of connection, health and community. We would love your companionship and support. Please contact us at HERE for more information, or to volunteer

Thank you all for your continued support and inspiration!

Justin Ancheta Band recently had the honor of joining Drea M at the Lost Church SF, a true gem and sanctuary of a live and acoustic music. In a live music scene that holds a high bar of excellence and faces many challenges in the realm of SF’s increasing electronic scene , and the personal and professional gentrification & socioeconomic imbalance (with the influx of the tech industry there).

Our paint job & video production studio is almost complete!! After much discussion about color, testing of swatches and boldness vs subtlety, AND we went with BOLD, and painted our beloved studio walls a deep slate grey and a deep orangy- red. The lights were assembled last week, and are ready to be placed, along with cameras and mics.

We have been busy making use of the depth and rich fertile ground that Winter has left us with.  We are gearing up to ride the wave of Spring’s driven and inspired movement forward! Here are a few of the plans below:
